A pallet is a flat and stable transport structure which allows ease of handling and storage efficiencies. Your shipping containers or other goods will typically be strapped and be wrapped around with stretch or shrink wrap to secure them onto the pallet. The secured containers or goods can then be easily and safely transported by a forklift, pallet jack, or any other jacking device.
In order to improve the handling and storage efficiencies of our clients' shipments, GPT offers standard local wood pallets and export-quality wood pallets (ISPM 15) that can also be customized to our clients' specifications. As part of our compliance to ISPM 15 regulation, all international ocean freight shipments containing any wood packaging material will be mandatorily fumigated and stamped prior to shipping. This fumigation step is performed to prevent the spread of plant pests and diseases that might negatively affect the local ecosystems. The ISPM 15 stamps on your wood pallet are disclosure to the authorities from both the country of origin and country of destination that any wood packaging materials in the shipments have been treated to comply with ISPM 15 regulations.
